• 1 Porch Swing -- A classic porch swing on chains from a porch beam: a slatted seat and back, armrests and a seat cushion. Set its width and the height of the beam -- the hangers, chains and their screws are all counted.

• 6 Modern Swing -- A sofa swing on chains from the middle of three timber portals, tied together between their beams by short blocks or by slats with a woven strip of shade cloth. It stands on ground screws or on concrete footings with U post anchors -- every screw and nail is counted.
